Career changes come in many forms. Do you want...
We get to know you and what you need at a deeper level, by consulting with you to understand your needs, interests, preferences and values, and gain clarity on what your ideal future looks like.
We are well-versed in a wide variety of assessment tools, such as career, interest, strength and personality assessments. We jointly explore your assessment results to identify possible occupations that could be a match for you.
Not all assessments are created equal, and some on-line assessments lack robustness and can even be misleading. We are experienced in tried and true assessments such MBTI, Birkman and various other assessment tools to help guide you forward.
The smoothest career transitions are those where the individual has an understanding of their new occupation, and is aware of entry requirements if there are any (e.g. education, certification, pre-requisite skills, licenses etc. plus any preliminary work experience that may be required).
We coach you through this process, helping you get clear on the big picture so you can make an informed decision of which occupation you wish to pursue. We also explore how your the industry sector, organization type, size and future work environment could impact other aspects of your work-life such as remuneration. All of this will help increase your preparedness and confidence as you move forward!
Clients will proceed forward in different ways, and at varying paces depending upon their own unique needs and situation. A gradual shift may be optimal for some and others may choose a faster career transition. These decisions should also be made with consideration to market demand, seasonality/market demand, and factors such as availability of required training etc.
Once you're ready to make the shift to your new career, we can provide expert support in the job search process. This could range from assistance with developing your job search marketing materials (i.e. resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile), to support with the job search process, application process, networking, job search strategies, interview preparation including mock interviews, and assistance in negotiating the job offer.
With years of experience in hiring/recruitment, we are well-versed in how employers make hiring decisions. Having worked in recruitment firms as well as "on the inside" (within a hiring organization), we can provide valuable insight into how hiring decisions are made.
Your career is a journey that requires continuous development. Transformative Solutions offers ongoing coaching services to help you set and achieve your professional goals. We are here to provide support, resources, and motivation throughout your career.
The landscape for job seekers has changed more recently than ever before. The hiring process has changed significantly due to the widespread use of applicant tracking systems (often coupled with non-human selection of short-listed candidates). In addition, Artificial Intelligence is predicted to dramatically alter the types of jobs available, with only a minority of jobs being unaffected by AI.
What does this mean? Modern job search just got more complex. The goods new is that job seekers who flexibly adapt to these changes have a better chance of standing out from the crowd.
Your job search coaching program starts with getting to know you, your background, and your job search goals. We explore factors that could increase your fulfillment in a future job, plus factors that could detract from it. We identify your strongest "selling points" for a potential employer (i.e. the contribution you bring). We also strategize to overcome any potential perceived gaps in your background or experience. After we've completed an initial consultation our next step is to focus on your job search materials.
As the working world has evolved, so have the marketing materials for job search. We will carefully review your resume to ensure it effectively showcases your most relevant skills and experience. Attention will also be given to ensuring you avoid formats that don't translate well with applicant tracking systems.
A carefully crafted cover letter can be a huge advantage. We will explore your cover letter and how it can be designed to maximize your chance of success. We often also review candidate's LinkedIn profiles and discuss other social media profiles to ensure you are putting your best foot forward.
The vast majority of jobs are unadvertised, yet the most candidates only engage in passive job search (i.e. apply only to online ads). For those "keeners" out there, we can assist you in standing out from the crowd and complementing your online efforts with other methods to get your dream job faster. With our background in professional recruitment, we've seen how the cream of the crop go beyond, and can advise you on gaining a competitive advantage.
Interviewing is a skill that requires preparation and practice but which anyone can learn. Having sat on the other side of the table hundreds upon hundreds of times, we've seen how some candidates excel and how others unknowingly hamper their own success.
We work with you to identify common interview questions, interviewing strategies, practice responses to tough interview questions, and provide full mock interviews with constructive feedback. Learn how to best present yourself in-person, over Zoom or teleconference, and in panel and second and third interviews. Also learn about effective interview follow-up.
After the interview, if you are being considered for hire, there may still be hoops to jump through. These may include post-interview assessments/tests, background checks, verification of education and other credentials, and reference checks. We can assist with a solid strategy to manage the post-interview stage, including pointers on managing the job offer process.
